SDI12 sensors to two loggers?

Norwester Aug 7, 2019 09:39 AM

Hello I was wondering if any knows if it is possible to hook a chain of 4 SDI12 sensors to two different loggers? I was thinking if the communications were offset (ie logger 1 @ every 30 seconds and logger 2 @ every 30 seconds but offset by 15 seconds) they would not interfere with eachother. I'm thinking I would just splice into the wires coming from the sensors and run them to a CR310 as well.

We have a group onsite that is currently using FTS Axiom loggers to log some In-situ logger trolls, they have an existing infastructure for getting the data back to their private network (current a Pi server).  But all around those stations I have C/S loggers that report to a diferent server, on a different network.  Some people in my group would like to be able to see that data in VDV with rest of our data.

Or is there another way to have a C/S logger "leach" off of a FTS logger?

Thanks,

Your FTS should be able to read the Campbell Scientific data logger as if it was an SDI-12 sensor: https://www.campbellsci.com/tip-sdi12

The CR300 has an CRBasic instruction called SDI12Watch() that will allow you to snoop SDI-12 communications between two other devices.
