Connect RS485 sensor to CR310 Datalogger

A@123 May 13, 2021 03:41 AM

Hi,

I want to connect a sensor supporting RS485 (Half duplex communication) supported sensor to CR310 datalogger. Please help me with which port to consider and what code should I refer.

Thanks,

Aishwarya

Sorry, the CR310 datalogger does not support RS485 half or full duplex connections. You would probably need to use an external RS485 to RS232 converter and then connect to the CR310 using its RS232 port or C1/C2.

ShortCut does not include support for Serial sensors. You will need to use CRBasic instead.

There is a good Technical Note on this which can be found here :-

Interfacing Serial Sensors with Campbell Scientific Dataloggers (App. Note Code: 2MI-V)

If you need further support than this, then your local Campbell Scientific office will be able to help.
